Reeds 'n Stuff Small and Reliable The Travel Mandrel will accept all oboe reeds, as there is no actual mandrel to have to match with different staple styles. The lack of a longer mandrel will also make getting through airport security with this tool much easier. The metal sleeve, similar to the ones used on actual oboes, provides a solid grip on the reed while simulaneously protecting the wood of the handle and ensuring that the opening stays the same size over the years.
